The 30th Anniversary Gala

“Puttin’ on the Ritz” was the theme of this year’s black-tie gala, held at The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, of course! Professional dancers from Daza Dance entertained patrons as a special treat and post-dinner, guests flooded the dance floor to live music from Del Baroni.

Black tie guests enjoyed a champagne reception and silent auction prior to a gourmet dinner of fresh fall figs with Asher blue cheese salad, roasted beef tenderloin with lobster ravioli, and triple praline crunch for dessert. During dinner, guests were entertained by dazzling ballroom routines by Daza Dance, including a group piece performed by several children with juvenile arthritis. A new special award of excellence for someone in the medical profession was handed out for the first time in honor of late orthopaedic surgeon and Arthritis Foundation donor Hugh McLeod. Hugh’s wife Leslie McLeod presented the inaugural award to Elizabeth A Martin, a former CEO of the Georgia chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and public health advocate. After a luxe live auction that included estate jewelry pieces from Eric Barr, a trip to the new The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong and Sunday at the Master’s Tournament, guest flooded the dance floor to live music from the band Del Baroni.
