The black-tie evening, attended by more than 650 guests, included a cocktail reception, a luxe silent and live auction, an elegant dinner and after-dinner dancing. The vibrant décor and lush, color-saturated blooms were created by Kay Douglass and Liz Shults with Kimberley Ichter of Kimberley Cary Event Design. For its tenth anniversary, Hope and Will honored all its lovely and generous past gala chairs including: Kitty Correll, Sara Smith, Angie Chesin, Christy Roberts, Elizabeth Richards, Amanda Tucker, Ashley Preisinger, Cathy Rhodes, Beth Park and Tara Widener.
Donna Hyland and Johnathan Goldman presented former CHOA Board of Trustees Chair Doug Hertz with a plaque to honor his nearly two decade’s of service to CHOA. And honoree patient family Jack and Juanita Markwalter, with all five of their healthy, strapping boys in tow, recounted a moving story of CHOA’s expert care of their fourth son Patrick, who was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect.
More than $650,000 was raised to support programs at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, including the Children’s Sibley Heart Center. For more information on Children’s Hospital of Atlanta visit: www.choa.org
